About The Hive

A place to develop, connect and thrive

The Hive was created to provide a welcoming, fully accessible place where children, young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can develop skills, build confidence, make connections and enjoy new experiences.

Based at Foreland Fields in Thanet, our five-acre site brings recreation, learning, training and social opportunities together in one inclusive environment.

But The Hive is about more than a building. We want to create a community around the people who use it — supporting families, friends and carers too, and working with local organisations to create more opportunities.

Our Story

The Hive grew from a simple idea: to create a place where people with special educational needs and disabilities could access opportunities, activities and support in a genuinely inclusive environment.

Working with Foreland Fields School and the wider community, that idea became The Hive — a purpose-built, fully accessible centre designed to bring people together.

Today, The Hive continues to grow through the support of local organisations, businesses, funders, families and friends, helping us create more opportunities for the people and communities we serve.
